We are honored to announce that Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark has accepted to be patron of EMS2017, the second European Emergency Medical Services Congress.
EMS2017 will be held at the Tivoli Hotel and Congress Center, 22-24 May 2017. The congress will bring together researchers, health care professionals and leaders within in the area of emergency medical services and pre-hospital care.
The theme of EMS2017 is that “It takes a system to save a life”. It might be easy to save a life but at the same time it is very complicated. Though it may be individuals who preform CPR, attach and use the defibrillator or even administer medications and advanced medical interventions, it is a system that makes it all possible. Cooperation between the dispatch center, the ambulance services and the emergency departments at the hospitals is essential in saving life. Lives are saved not just by highly trained EMS professionals, but by highly efficient EMS systems.
The Crown Princess is among other patron of a number of health organisations, and has contributed to raising awareness about health care issues in Denmark and internationally. The Crown Princess’ social commitment is also evident in the work of her foundation – The Mary Foundation. The Crown Princess was patron of EMS2016.
“The support from Her Royal Highness is a great recognition of the care provided by emergency medical services. It is with true dedicating, discussion, presentation and implementation of new groundbreaking science, that EMS will keep evolving for the good of patients not only in Europe, but across continents. We are sure that Her Royal Highness’ patronage will help us in achieving our ambition of shaping the future of emergency medical services and pre-hospital care,” says Freddy Lippert, congress chair, associated professor, CEO EMS Copenhagen.
